Club Recognised for Efforts to Promote VolleyballMay 9th, 2007City of Bristol Volleyball Club won the Promotional Award 'Runner Up' prize at Volleyball England's Big Bash recently in recognition for the variety of work its members do to not only promote the sport, but also to encourage people to play volleyball.
Announced at the Big Bash awards ceremony held in Kettering on 28th April, CoBVC was given £100 prize money and just pipped to the winners post by Newcastle Staffs Volleyball Club.
The entry for the award showed that diverse range of activity in which the club is involved helps to put volleyball and CoBVC in the public eye. The professional website, schools and university partnerships, club discussion forum and photo archive, match reports, media coverage and of course the Whitefield International Volleyball Tournament were just some of the efforts highlighted.
Steffen Paessler, CoBVC Development Officer, was there to accept the Award on behalf of the club: "Recognition for the work that the club is doing is great news. Further feedback on the night suggested that with the Clubmark, the awards and the junior development work, all involved have helped to create an image of a club that wants to go somewhere. A massive 'thank you' should go to everyone who has contributed to achieving this!" |
