University of Bristol Students

As part of an arrangement with the University of Bristol under their Open Sports Club Program, students who play for the University of Bristol squads are automatically City of Bristol Volleyball Club members. Depending on skill level, students can play and train with any of the CBVC teams. On top of this, the University teams have their own training sessions and competition weekends scattered throughout the year.

Student training sessions are coached by Artur Kwiecinski, ex-Polish professional and the setter for CBVC Men 1. They take place at the Centre for Sports, Exercise and Health. More details on training times can be found here.

The open club system gives students the opportunity to train more than twice per week within a well structured framework. More importantly, it also allows them to compete against some of the country's best volleyball players on a regular basis.

Highly talented student athletes are also eligible to be a part of the University's Advanced Sports Squad. Students given this honour are provided with a number of opportunities to excel at their sport.
